Gabriel Matheus Pinto
École de Technologie Supérieure, Montreal, Canadá
Completing my PhD through a dual degree programme between Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie and École de technologie supérieure (Canada) was a transformative experience, both academically and personally. The opportunity to carry out my research in two distinct academic environments provided me with a broad and interdisciplinary perspective on my field of study, as well as significantly expanding my network of scientific contacts.
During the PhD, I had access to state-of-the-art facilities at both institutions, which was essential for achieving the results obtained and for deepening my understanding of the research topic. Moreover, the cultural and scientific exchange between the two countries allowed me to develop key skills, such as communication in multicultural environments, adaptability to different educational and research systems, and international collaboration.
Despite the logistical and administrative challenges inherent to a dual degree programme, the support offered by both universities and the enriching experience made this journey extremely rewarding. Today, I feel much better prepared to contribute to science on a global level, and I highly recommend this experience to other students seeking a solid and international academic background.
I would like to express my gratitude to the postgraduate programme in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie for all the support throughout these years and for making this opportunity possible.
