Energy Storage
Mackgraphe's focus in this area is on energy storage through the development of capacitors and batteries based on nanomaterials and/or nanocomposites. Our systems store electrical energy through new physical charge accumulation strategies or through different chemical reactions, and are elaborated by using new dielectric materials and new electrolytes, composed of different ionic species, in addition to the classic Li+ ions of lithium ion batteries. We also focus on miniaturization, flexibility, stability, lightness, cost and power as key factors in the improvement of these devices, and in the development of new 2D nanomaterials and/or nanocomposites, which can be used either as their cathodes or anodes. These goals are considered today the main solution to supply capacitors and batteries with more power density and accumulated energy density.
