Peter G. Enticott obtained his Bachelor's degree in Applied Science (Psychology) from Deakin University (Melbourne, Australia) in 2001 and the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Monash (Melbourne, Australia) in 2006. Currently, he is Professor at Deakin University and the Director of the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit, School of Psychology at Deakin University. He is currently funded by a Future Fellowship from the Australian Research Council (ARC). He uses a range of neuroscience techniques, including brain stimulation, electrophysiology, and neuroimaging, to examine Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental social cognitive phenomena.

Óscar F. Gonçalves graduated in Psychology from the University of Porto in Portugal, and holds two doctoral degree from the Counseling, School and Consulting Psychology Program, at University of Massachusetts, Amherst - USA, and in Neurosciences from the Faculty of Medicine - University of Santiago de Compostela – Spain. He is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Minho, Portugal and senior research associate at the Spaulding Center of Rehabilitation, Harvard Medical School, and an adjunct professor of Applied Psychology at Northeastern University. He is board certified licensed in clinical psychology, psychotherapy and neuropsychology. Lauri Nummenmaa obtained his undergraduate degree majoring in Psychology from the University of Turku, Finland. He defended his PhD on neurocognitive mechanisms of social attention at University of Turku in 2006. After that, he worked as a Post-doc at the MRC CBU in Cambridge, UK studying neural mechanisms of face perception in Andy Calder’s group. He returned to Finland in 2008, to work as Academy of Finland Junior Fellow and subsequently as Senior Fellow at Turku Pet Center and Aalto University. After a four-year appointment as Assistant Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at Aalto University, he returned to the University of Turku with his laboratory. Currently he leads the Human Emotion Systems Laboratory at Turku PET Centre and Department of Psychology, University of Turku. The group studies functional and molecular neural mechanisms of human emotions and social interaction in complex, life-like settings with magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, magneto- and electroencephalography and behavioural techniques. He has authored over 100 scientific articles on brain basis of emotions and social cognition, and acquired more than 4M€ grant money for his research group. Currently his research is funded by the European Research Council, the Academy of Finland, The Sigrid Juselius Foundation and the Emil Aaltonen Foundation.

Alice Mado Proverbio has a degree cum laude in Experimental Psychology from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and a PhD in General Psychology from the University of Padua. She has received numerous research grants from various bodies, among which the European Science Foundation, the European Society for Cognitive Psychology, and the James McDonnel Foundation for Cognitive Neuroscience, which also financed her Post Doctoral training at the University of California, Davis (Center for Neuroscience, 1993-1994), where she worked under the supervision of prof. Ron Mangun. Upon returning to Italy (1995), she was granted a post-doctoral grant from the University of Padua and the same year became a research scientist at the University of Trieste. She has guided the University of Trieste’s Cognitive Electrophysiology Laboratory from 1996 to 2000. Since 2001, she is Associate Professor of Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology at University of Milano-Bicocca, where she teaches Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience and Physiological Psychology. She founded the Cognitive Electrophysiology Lab there in 2003. Alice Mado Proverbio is a former Council Member of the Italian Society of Psychophysiology (SIPF), and is member of the Society for Neuroscience. Thalia Wheatley is an Associate Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences and Director of Graduate Studies at Dartmouth College. She has previously held an NIH Research Fellowship, an NIH IRTA Postdoc Fellowship, an MGH-NMR fMRI Visiting Fellowship and a fellowship from the Summer Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. June Gruber received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley, where she was an NIMH Predoctoral Fellow in Affective Science. After completing her Ph.D. in 2009 she began as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Yale University, and in 2014 relocated to the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Gruber has authored over 90 articles and chapters and co-edited the book Positive Emotion: Integrating the Light Sides and Dark Sides as well as the forthcoming book Positive Emotion and Psychopathology with Oxford University Press. She enjoys teaching and disseminating the study of emotion and psychopathology, and has directed the Experts in Emotion Interview Series, created an online course in Human Emotion available freely through YouTube and iTunes U, and given a TEDx talk on the “dark side” of happiness. Sabrina Marques is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art and MFA Critic at Western Connecticut State University. She received her BA in Visual Arts from Columbia University. Edson Amaro Junior holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (2000) and has been a professor there since 2007. Elizeu Coutinho de Macedo holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of São Paulo (1991), a Master's degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of São Paulo (1994) and a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of São Paulo (2000). João Ricardo Sato is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of the ABC. He is a former Coordinator of the Center for Cognition and Complex Systems. His current research interests are in the interaction between neuroscience and the exact sciences, with a focus on neurodevelopment, the neural bases of psychiatric disorders, cerebral connectivity, artificial intelligence and neural signal processing. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from the University of Sao Paulo in 2002. When starting his PhD in 2004, he decided to focus on the development of new statistical methods for modeling brain connectivity through functional magnetic resonance signals. This interdisciplinary work was co-supervised by professors at the Department of Statistics and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo. In 2006, he completed a research internship at the Institute of Psychiatry of King's College London, where he integrated computer-based machine learning techniques into his research portfolio. After completing his PhD in 2007, he worked as a Statistical Consultant and researcher at the Hospital das Clínicas in São Paulo. He is currently coordinator of the Applied Neuroscience Interdisciplinary Center at the Federal University of the ABC.
