On Friday, February 3rd, the Mackenzie Institute for Research in Graphene and Nanotechnology (MackGraphe) met with the A.C Camargo Cancer Center, considered the largest cancer diagnosis, treatment and research center in Latin America. The meeting took place at the MackGraphe building, on the Higienópolis campus.
The general director, Benedito Guimarães Aguiar Neto, and the researchers received the delegation formed by the CEO of A.C Camargo, Dr. Victor Piana; the Superintendent of Teaching and Research, Dr. José Humberto Fregnani; the superintendent of Innovation, Rodrigo Gosling; and the head of the Department of Pathology, Dr. Louise de Brot Andrade.
The common interest between the institutions is the direct application of scientific knowledge in innovative products of interest to the market, with a strong impact on the health area. Possible opportunities for partnerships in research, development and innovation projects were discussed, especially in biochemical sensors, nanomaterials in prostheses and composites in treatments and therapeutics.
A new meeting is already scheduled so that more specific proposals for solutions to A.C Camargo's demands can be explored and developed by MackGraphe researchers and, in the future, generate economic growth added to the well-being of the population, mainly in diagnosis, prognosis and therapy in cancer.
