MackGraphe, represented by its General Director Prof. Dr. Benedito Aguiar, participated on the 16th, at the Ulisses Guimarães Convention Center, Brasília, of the SNCT promoted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation MCTI), in its twentieth edition. Mackenzie's Director of Institutional Relations, Dr. Walter Ribeiro, was also present. The lecture focused on applications of Graphene and its applications in Health, where MackGraphe's main R&D projects in this area and the respective technological innovations in progress and inherent challenges were presented. Followed by debates on the development of applications of biomaterials and nanotechnology for demands in the health sector, the importance of investments that support both scientific and technological research with a focus on innovation was highlighted. Basic research in graphene, although it still finds a lot of space in the field of scientific research, already allows the development of applications focused on market demands, highlighted Dr. Benedito Aguiar.
Among the aspects considered, the need for integration between the main actors in the innovation strategy design process was also highlighted: government, academia and business. These entities, once articulated in strategic programs, with due synergy, are fundamental to associating demand with the effective supply of innovation, highlighted the Director of MackGraphe.
Researchers involved in the study and development of applications of nanomaterials in health, as well as technicians from MCTI, participated in the debate.
The SNCT, which began on the 16th of October, should run until the 22nd and aims to mobilize the population around the importance of science as a tool for generating value, innovation, wealth, solutions to national challenges, social inclusion and improving quality of life.
