Nanobiotechnology, one of MackGraphe's new priority areas, is transforming the future of medicine. As the world faces increasingly complex health challenges, nanobiotechnology is emerging as a promising solution to many problems. MackGraphe, at the forefront of knowledge production in nanotechnology, has a laboratory structure that allows research and development (R&D) of nanotechnologies with a focus on technological innovations oriented to different market demands, as highlighted by Director Dr. Benedito G. Aguiar Grandchild. At the MackGraphe facilities, it is possible to formulate and characterize products for the biomedical area, develop pre-clinical tests and, when applicable, clinical tests in collaboration with our University Hospital, says researcher Dr. Aryel Heitor Ferreira Ph.D., leader in the area of MackGraphe's nanobiotechnology.
One more step was taken this week towards new products in a meeting with Dr. Marcelo Barreto, IPM advisor and researcher in the field of herbal medicine, in which strategies were defined for the development of a product that constitutes a nanostructured dressing with incorporation of unpublished herbal medicines. These biocompatible membranes will allow the release of actives with proven healing, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties in a slow and gradual way, improving and accelerating the healing process of wounds and burns and minimizing scarring.
