MackGraphe formally started, with the signature of the project charter, a new partnership in RD&I with the company Sumitomo.Riko, which operates in the auto parts sector. The objective of the project is to develop a new nanostructured polymeric material with two-dimensional materials that should provide greater gas barrier capacity to the partner company's commercial product. The new material should replace a standard material used by the industry, providing greater efficiency at a lower cost. The technological challenge involved in the project lies within the scope of innovations being developed by MackGraphe with nanostructured and multifunctional composite materials for various applications. The formal kickoff of the project with the representative of S.Riko, Eng. Matheus Siqueira was led by MackGraphe Director Dr. Benedito Aguiar, management team and researchers involved, and was attended by the President of IPM, Dr. Milton Flavio Moura. The project's success expectations are high, regarding the innovation results, due to the existing expertise in MackGraphe in the context of the project's objectives. Developing R&D projects for nanotechnologies with a focus on meeting market demands, notably industry, is the purpose of MackGraphe, stressed Director Dr. Benedito G. Aguiar Neto.
