Abstracts Submission

Interested participants may submit abstracts of unpublished works for presentation at the event, in poster format. The work should be related to Nutrition and Food Science and Technology, with emphasis on the following areas:

  • Nutrition in the Food Production Chain
  • Food formulation, new product development, food processing, stability and shelf-life
  • Sensory profile of food and consumer-food relationship
  • Nutrition, functional foods and bioactive compounds, probiotics, fortified foods, sodium, sugar or fat reduction
  • Sustainability in Food Production
  • Food Security
  • Food Analysis News

Each work submitted must have a responsible author, registered in the Symposium, who must present the poster at the designated time. Each participant may submit up to three (3) works.

Only the approved papers of authors previously registered in the Symposium will be presented and published in the event Annals.

  • Final date for submission of papers: October 20, 2018
  • Publication of the list of accepted papers: October 27, 2018
  • Final deadline for payment of registration of the presenting author of the work: October 31, 2018

Instructions for formatting abstracts

The abstract should be submitted in Portuguese or English languages, through an electronic link, and its structure should contain:

  • Title, Authorship (names citations in order of authorship), Teaching Institution, electronic address of authors;
  • Scientific text with a limit of 300 words including the following items: introduction and objectives, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion;
  • Tables and figures should not be included;
  • Do not include references.

Review

The Abstracts will be sent to the Scientific Committee to be evaluated and may be rejected if it is not scientifically appropriate or of formatting.

Each abstract submitted will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the areas of Food Technology and Nutrition
  • Scientific merit
  • Relevance
  • Originality
  • Practical application

Presentation

Poster exhibition will be held in the morning (8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) and in the afternoon (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.) on November 10, 2018. The posters should have the following dimensions: 120cm high and 90cm wide.

Publication

The approved Abstracts will be published in the event Annals and will be available electronically, on the Symposium internet page.
