The MackGraphe (Mackenzie Institute for Research in Graphene and Nanotechnologies) received a visit from the company Alupar to discuss RD&I projects in the areas of transmission and power generation. MackGraphe was represented by its Director General, Dr. Benedito G. Aguiar Neto, the Project Manager, Dr. Marcelo Silva Oliveira, and the Institute's team of energy researchers. Alupar was represented by its directors Eng. José Luiz Pereira and Eng. João Eduardo Pinheiro, and the company's innovation team.
It was decided that the partnership to be signed will focus on the development of new energy storage technologies applied to energy generation and transmission systems (batteries and super conductors), which use nanocomposites based on graphene and other two-dimensional materials.
The great technological challenge will be to develop batteries with higher power densities and accumulated energy.
