O Direito do Trabalho sob perspectiva comparada: regulações europeia, portuguesa e brasileira

The proposed course intends to analyze and confront fundamental issues for Contemporary Labor Law, in a comparative perspective and with particular emphasis on the relationship between the Brazilian legal system and the Portuguese legal system, against the background of relevant issues of European Law. 

Thus, the role of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in the European and South American scope will be highlighted, as well as the classic themes of the dogmatics of Labor Law, such as its guiding principles, its sources and specific rules. 

In addition, emphasis will be given to the constitutional framework of Labor Law, which is today so important both in Brazil and Portugal and its international component and, in the case of the Portuguese system, its community environment - this framework being important in itself, is today especially relevant due to the globalization of the economy and labor and, consequently, by the new challenges that arise in relation to the circulation of workers and emigration. 

Finally, emphasis will also be given to the evolution of Labor Law in recent years ("the time that is recognized as the crisis of traditional Labor Law"), with the analysis of the various aspects of labor flexibility and balancing the new challenges facing labor systems in the 21st century.
